"Life Span" is written for unaccompanied Electric Violin using a stand-alone amp and pedal effects processor. The work employs electronic effects of distortion and octave-doubling and also contains passages requiring double and triple stops. It is of graduate-level difficulty and has a duration of about 5 minutes.
